Win rate at 1/2 NL in NYC
I was wondering what some of your win/loss rates & avg. wins/losses ($) are in these NYC clubs? Does it noticeably differ from your results in AC/FW/Vegas or other B&M rooms?
Because these NYC games seem to get crazier and crazier by day (ex. $30-50 PF raises at 1/2NL followed by 7 callers) which seems to be resulting in extreme variance, at least for me. In addition, what do you consider the best way to counteract these LAGs who will call any amount preflop as long as they hold some suited cards or cannot fold TP on the flop? Besides the obvious strategy of tightening up your hand requirements and making bigger bets to protect your hand? |

There are no cardrooms left in NYC, newb...
but if you have a legitimate question about playing against a LAG table in a small stakes NL game, I suggest you try asking it in the Small Stakes No Limit forum... |

I don't know about others, but I've found flopping 2 pair or better and stacking those TPTK people to be an effective strategy.

Re: Win rate at 1/2 NL in NYC
Raise...big. Make them commit a large portion of their stack. On a very loose table where I know most will call $100+ with any pocket pair, I make them pay the price where they cannot go any further after the flop. Aces? I make it about 25% of the largest stack on the table. If they do flop a set or two pair, at least they paid dearly for it. Then I just reload and get right back in there. I've been pretty successful doing this... I also like suited aces in position, they win huge pots.
