I've always had Thinkpads and wouldn't want another brand. Once you get used to the TrackPoint it becomes as easy to use as a proper mouse - very useful.

Dell XPS, Asus and Vaio notebooks are the best, although Vaios are usually waaay overpriced for what they are.

Having recently ditched the Dell Inspiron and moved to the HP Pavillion, I STRONGLY recommend the HP. You probably don't need the newest intel, at least not at a ~$300 premium over the AMD dual processor.

I have a T60 Thinkpad with 15' screen and 1600x1200 resolution (great for multitabling). I would highly recommend that if you can find one.

Here I just found one for sale: http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail...ook%20Computers

If you are looking for a great laptop for online poker this is it.

My friend, this laptop will cost you 1.1k. You should go mac and you can run windows on it through bootcamp or parallels or VMware very easily. They are sleek and have a glossy screen and great battery life and are very easy to use.
didnt meet monitor requirement but everyhting else is RIGHT on
