Default Dilemma: Still being paid from old job

I used to have a job working for a very large international company. It was just a basic unskilled customer services role.

I worked there on a fixed term contract for 9 months which ended in December, they've since paid me direct into my account for another two months wages.

Has anyone been in this situation before, if so how did it end up. I was happy keeping quiet when they paid me for an extra one months pay but now I'm a bit concerned.

I'm in the UK and the money totals ~£2k if that makes a difference. Also the team that I worked in is being disbanded at the end of this month so there's a chance it may all blow over in a months time leaving me £3k richer.

What should I do?

do you like waking up each morning as a thief? given that you posted here, are you more concerned about getting caught or dealing with guilt?

you know the answer to this already. get it done.

I'm totally only concerned with the repercussions of getting caught. I've no qualms taking money from a huge multinational.

But you're willing to work for them to advance their cause. Nice.

Next time state that in your OP. Will make it for theere to be less threads abouts moral standards to wade through.

anyway, just look into the legality of it. I had a similar thing happen to me many years ago and I found out there wasnt anything they could do about it and I wasnt breaking any laws by cashing the checks. It might differ in the UK or something, but its a mistake on their end, as long as you didnt cause the mistake I dont see how you could get in trouble. But its certainly enough money that you could get some legal advice on it so you could find out one way or the other.
