Question about counterfeiting
I'm just learning the game and am having extreme difficulty understanding why I didn't win the low pot here. I understand the concept of counterfeiting, but I have read and reread the rules on different sources and nowhere is it clear. The gist I get is that any two cards in your hand can complete the three matched up at the table.
Since there was no low hand ranked here, I have to assume that both my 2 & 4 were counterfeited when they fell on the board. Can anybody clarify this rule for me?? OMAHA_HI_LO, POT_LIMIT, T4-51690087-45 played at "Tampico" for USD TC from 2007-10-12 19:16 until 2007-10-12 19:18 Seat 1: earthwizard ($5,766 in chips) Seat 2: hade xx ($2,904 in chips) Seat 3: Mr. Pike ($11,634 in chips) Seat 4: batonchik x ($975 in chips) Seat 5: gtdaveab ($5,307 in chips) Seat 6: bruzbrother ($11,752 in chips) Seat 7: meep meep ($4,618 in chips) Seat 8: flydevill ($9,276 in chips) Seat 9: Snookerist ($21,551 in chips) Seat 10: PamelitaRC ($1,859 in chips) ANTES/BLINDS Mr. Pike posts blind ($100), batonchik x posts blind ($200). Re: Question about counterfeiting
Both your 2 and 4 are conterfeited, but you still have a low.
Your low is 8-7-4-2-A (you make that low using the 8 and 7 on board, the ace in your hand, and either the 4 on the board and your hole 2, or the opposite). Your opponent has 7-5-4-3-2 (5 and 3 in his hand 2, 4 and 7 on the board), which beats you since 7 is lower than 8. |

Re: Question about counterfeiting
Ah, what confused me was that no low hand was ranked. It said that snookerist won the pot with a high. Now that you point out he had a lower hand, it seems blatantly obvious.
At least I don't have to try to understand the counterfeiting problem anymore. Thanks T. Chance. |

Re: Question about counterfeiting
Except at my B & M, where the dealer would unthinkingly yell "Nut low!" upon seeing your A2 and award you half the pot.
