getting robbed at Los angeles Casinos
I have had a few friends get robbed at the Hawain gardens and Commerce. The usual senerio is my friends play poker in the casino for a few hours, then when they walk out to there car a group of guys show them guns and pistol whip my friends and they take there wallets/purses. This has happened 3 times this year already and the security there never seems to know what is happening. Hope some corrupt security guards arent involved with these things.

At commerce if you're concerned just ask security for an escort.

I guess everyone must get an escort to be totally safe.

Pretty lame. These casinos should beef up their parking lot security and be held accountable in some way for robberies that take place on their property.

why on earth would anyone walk near a bunch of guys in a casino parking lot. [/ QUOTE ] The guys hide behind cars then they sneak up behind you. One of my friends was a lady she went to go play a small buy in tournament at the hawaiin gardens and as she was about to get into her car they pistol whipped her and took her purse. she is terrified to ever go into a poker casino again and she only plays online now. They found her purse a few days later but the case remains open. Security didnt see anything not even on there cameras. I mean i have heard of home invasian robberies but give me a break. |

why on earth would anyone walk near a bunch of guys in a casino parking lot. [/ QUOTE ] Ray, good point as usual. I'll add a couple more here. - In the parking lot you have to use street smarts. Stay away from others and this works both ways. For example, don't cut through a row of parked cars when somebody nearby is inside their car or standing near a car. It can be dangerous for you and scary to them. - Stay in the middle of the aisle where it's well lit. - Keep spacing between you and others. If you follow someone out of the club let them move ahead early in the walk or pass them with speed and see if they match you (if they do something may be wrong). - When there are a lot of people around you are usually safe. - On the outskirts of the lot get a shuttle as others have suggested. These things happen but if you use some sense (along with the other hints) it shouldn't happen to you. ~ Rick |

Re: getting robbed at Los angeles Casinos
Exactly. Get your head out of your ass, not just around casinos. Except for professional robberies, which would happen only to high stakes players, stay alert and you'll be fine. Keep your eyes open (to know what's going on) and your shoulders back (so you don't look like a victim.) And that's no joke, about not looking like a victim. Muggers are pussies looking for easy targets. Old people. Squares in jack-mobiles. Those in golf clothes, not leather jackets.
