I think he wants you to switch the 66 in your mind to an Ax and say how you would play it.

well all the action would be the same, but I prob would have Raised/shoved river after his lead, as I was in position...

If i did have Ax then I probably would have given him a free card on the river to let him improve/make it look like i was weak,

having said that, I checked the turn for both the above reason and to try and keep the pot small with my pair...
