Most places won't let you parlay the total and the side of the same game.

Almost all books allow you to do this. I know every once in a while some won't, but that is only when they are (almost obviously) correlated. But, even then, I cannot remember this happening anytime recently.

If you try to parlay a non-allowed game, are you locked out by the computer or does a manager just jump in and go, "Whoa, no way"?

It is stopped automatically from what I remember. The situation that Your Mom mentions is the most likely scenario. And they won't block all parlays on the game, just the correlated ones.

this is correct. It just comes up with a msg that you can't parlay these two choices. I'm not a parlay player except for highly correlated totals and sides so I guess that's why I was off on this. thanks for the info.

Well just to let all know......you CAN parlay the pats and the over in any and all games anywhere, anytime, for any amount. I suggest you start as soon as possible
