Permanent videogame forum?

I think videogames should be part of PoG's domain permanently

i wouldn't want it to be a part of PoG just because i don't think i care about PoG topics and it would be annoying to sift through them.

PoG seems to an outsider like a place where people go to arrange/play online or thread-based games. i would like to see a separate video and board game forum.

I really like this forum, I've found any info I've needed about ps3, or wii and finding people to play 360 with. There hasn't been a problem finding the info thanks to this forum, I don't think I'd like having to find threads through POG personally.

this forum is getting a lot of traffic bc of the timing. it will die down. you can only make so many OMG WII threads.

Agreed.

However, until the end of the year, there will be huge interest in a video game forum.

We should have a forum for video games until everyone goes back to work after Christmas, the interest will be there until then.

If nothing else -- if a video game forum doesn't gain traction -- it might not be a bad idea to house a few things in POG. Specifically, a list of Friend Codes (for Wii/DS) or XBox Live Tags (for XBox/360) and a list of whatever the hell PS3 has -- that'd make a good POG sticky, and wouldn't require non-Poggers to wade through other threads if they didn't want to.

I agree with all of this. If I want to read about videogames, I can't exactly just filter through POG. I do think traffic is inflated because of Wii/PS3 releases, but I also think a videogame forum will be able to sustain enough traffic on a normal basis.

there are also links to flash games and the occasional WoW thread placed there

but i think it has more to do with people's perception of the forum than the reality of the forum that makes me think that
