To get this thread back on track,

My parents got divorced when I was in high school. My mom kept the house and my dad got a really [censored] apartment about 20 minutes away.

My dad drove to my house every morning to take me to school. And the drive from my house to the school was only about 5 minutes.

I was a HUGE baseball growing up. When I was in the 5th grade my dad took me out of school for week, and the two of us went to Florida to watch spring training games. We stayed in Tampa, and drove all over Florida to watch baseball all day. I think we took in 8 games over a 5 day period. The players were very accessible and the atmosphere was really relaxed, so I was able to get right up on the field during batting practice and warmups. I've been on several kick *** vacations since then (Spain, Italy, Hawaii) but this trip will always stick out in my mind as the best vacation I've ever had.

One of my most treasured possesions to this day is a scrapbook we made of the trip with pictures, autographs, ticket stubs, programs, ect.

don't worry, he won't be posting for the next few days

I don't know if you can guarantee that, he's clearly just trying to rile people up so I doubt he'll stop posting.

My dad wasn't amazing, but apparently at my half sister's birthday party he defended me in front of everyone when my step-grandmother insulted my career/lifestyle.

My dad was on the cover of our County Paper for being the leader of a Drug Manufacturing/Distributing Ring he and his brother's ran. That's kinda cool.

And there were times when he and his brothers would come out of his room strapping on bulletproof vests and shoulder holsters, and carrying guns. Talking about "We gotta go collecting".

That [censored] sounds kinda crazy, but it was cool too. (Note: I lived with my Mom so I got low doses of the craziness at that house.)

My dad has flown a dozen times or so on the KC-135, which simulates zero-gravity (micro for the nits). He took some TMNT action figures up there so I would have toys that had been in zero gravity. Now I'm not sure why having toys that floated in midair should mean anything but back then I thought it was awesome.

When I was in Boy Scouts and did the Pinewood Derby my dad got completely obsessed. Sure I didn't get to do much more than sanding, painting, and placing stickers ... but the special order wheels, graphite, and cleverly concealed hidden weights led me to go undefeated for like 3 years straight.
