Ty for the support. Think im actually going to go for the wipe and reinstall option. got loads of stuff on it that i need to get rid of anyway. thanks for your help, and good idea about a seperate poker comp!

I am in the process of purchasing a new notebook and was considering having two HDD's fitted with a view to having a dedicated HDD to poker and the other for general Internet usage. Would any Trojan or Virus picked up on one HDD compromise the security on the other HDD in anyway?

[/ QUOTE ] its a pain but you could potential look into this http://www.faronics.com/html/deepfreeze.asp It makes your system files "stuck" so once you reboot everything is the same it was when you set it up....
