The location finder at Moneygram isn't very good. I used a zip code/city/state and it found nothing. Then I removed the zip code and just used city and state and found what I was looking for. Moneygram was a very easy deposit method.

And by city isn't great either. I have a WalMart about two blocks from me that is an agent, but didn't show up because technically it's in a different city. Try nearby cities if you come up empty, or just go to any WalMart. Also WalMart only charges 9.50.

I just returned from a successful Moneygram deposit. The Speedway manager put me on the phone with Moneygram and I didn't have to fill out a form. She took all my info over the phone, gave me confirmation #...........$609.95 and 45 minutes later, $600 is in my stars account with bonii.

Everything on my receipts are in Spanish. Viva poker!

[/ QUOTE ]
Fortunately, as a native Texan, I spoke enough Spanish to fill out the form.

FTP uses MoneyGram. I just made a deposit there today to earn a redeposit bonus. Quick and painless.

"or do I go to Moneygram and try to tell them who Pokerstars is?"

Are you serious? Jesus christ guys, it takes one guy like this to ruin everything for online poker. Obviously only contact the merchant about issues or to ask questions (not moneygram!). They will more then take care of you. As my name states, use some common sense here PEOPLE.

Im gonna recap for people who still havent figured it out.
Figure out where you can moneygram near you.
Go to stars account- click the moneygram option- fill in the amount you plan to purchase.
Take the info Stars gave you when you filled out your amount.
They also email it to you.
Go to ANY moneygram agent- hopefully you found one near you.

"Hi I need to do a moneygram." That's literally all I had to say. Once I had the 7 digit code (I had to do it myself because our Super America has no dedicated moneygram phone nor the forms so I 1-800ed it from the outside payphone- you give the send codes etc you got from stars to the operator, she gives you the 7 digit code to actually pay.) I gave it to the clerk, he punches it in, the amount to pay comes up, he asks me to confirm it, I pay.

Never once did I get asked why I needed to send money. Unlike Western Union I was not asked whether it was business or personal or whether I knew who was picking it up.
I was never asked to show ID.
Nobody asked, I didn't volunteer. In all honesty this is how I tend to do business- it's none of anyones business until they show me I can't do it any other way.
Had they asked I would have said I don't ask them how they pay their bills.

Hand the money to the clerk. Despite what anyone says this is the most critical step. Seriously.
Go play poker.

Personally I think this is why moneygram/WU will always be a safe haven, since illegals seem to be politically off limits, so luckily us poker players get a free ride on their coattails.

[/ QUOTE ]

Your wrong. An attorney general in AZ has been confiscating millions in WU transfers to southern AZ, claiming that if there for/from a Mexican there probably payments to a coyote.

Just did a Moneygram deposit to take advantage of the Stars reload bonus. The site was right around the corner from me and the transaction was quick and easy as people described here. 9.95 fee. It's not Neteller but it's what we got now. Not too bad.

Now to figure out how to get my $$ out of Stars after clearing the bonus.
