nothing wrong with either. a check behind controls the pot better if you happen to still be drawing live, as you probably are (any set would probably raise flop b/c of flushdraw, and you having a jack makes it less likely he has top 2, though certainly not impossible.) Flop calls usually indicate flushdraws, and that is probably what I put him on.

A bet on the turn gives you the chance to take it down now. Flushdraws usu. give up when the board pairs, but half pot will look too weak and could invite a bluff from a perceptive opponent. Bet full pot without hesitation given previous analysis, fold to a raise.

Really just however you wanna play it in this situation. Stay away from the weak bets, though. Always look strong.

depending on reads, image etc i usually bet about $40 here and fold to a raise, although like previous posters have said checking is fine also

Half a pot is fine here. So long as that's what you would also do here with AA and JJ.

I'm pretty sure betting 40-50$ takes down the pot very often. I'm not sure if I could fold if he pushes, cause we would have 15-25 left, and the pot would be 160$+, meaning that if he does this with trips or a FD some tiny % of the time, it's a call.
