You suck, DirecTV: only 12/15 weekly games in HD

I live in Austin and the CBS affiliate is showing the Tennessee Vince Youngs instead of the Texans, so I ponied up the $270 for the Sunday Ticket.

Now come to find out that DirecTV doesn't rebroadcast all of the NFL games in HD, and that 5 of the 16 Texans games this year will not be available to me in HD.

WTF. I think DirecTV owes me a discount. If I'd known this upfront, I might not have gotten the package.

Are you sure it's DirecTV and not CBS itself? I could have sworn that I read somewhere that CBS doesn't have enough HD equipment to broadcast all of their NFL games in HD (Fox does). So if CBS doesn't broadcast in HD then DirecTV certainly won't either.

You have to get SuperFan to get the games in HD. I think CBS is broadcasting every game in HD this year because KC HOU was HD last week, and if that game was HD then all games should be.

I think it's actually CBS's fault. They are not broadcasting every game in HD. Ugh.

I'm 99% sure all of the games they broadcasted last week were in HD, including such riveting games as KC v. HOU and TEN v. JAX. Not sure why they would change after 1 week.

But once again you can't get the games in HD unless you get Super Fan

According to AVSforum, three games aren't in HD this week.

* Houston at Carolina 1 PM CBS (Gus Johnson, Steve Tasker)
* Cincinnati at Cleveland 1PM CBS (Bill Macatee, Steve Beuerlein)
* Seattle at Arizona 4:05 FOX (SD Widescreen) (Chris Rose,Terry Donahue)

It has nothing to do with DirecTV. Every game that is aired by CBS or Fox in HD will be on Superfan on HD. The problem is that neither Fox nor CBS has enough trucks to show every game in HD.

Last week, all games were in HD because ESPN and NBC each showed 2 games in HD. This week (and next) with ESPN and NBC each showing only 1 game in HD, there will be a bunch of games not in HD. Once the bye weeks start in week 4, fewer games will be in SD.
