Default Bigger commitment: Marriage or Teh Snip

I've been married 8 years. We have 3 awesome kids. No mas por favor. Today I am getting snipped.

I went down the road of vasectomy being a bigger commitment than marriage. Wife was skeptical. I think the snip shows a man is willing to give up his primary reason for existence (reproduction) and effectively eliminates him from consideration by all woman still capable of and interested in child-bearing.

Any arguments either way?

Definitely not a bigger commitment than marriage. It means you don't have to worry about any of your mistresses having a kid and blackmailing you.

Yeah, can't you get that procedure reversed anyway?

Ah, so actually the snip kinda makes you more inclined to stray. Interesting.

This reminds me of the comment from some comedian-- "OK I can understand a wife and kids but a TATTOO...it's so permanent."

Most of the time it can be reversed; however, it is much more involved and expensive.

Anyone who thinks he might reconsider is probably better off making a few sperm bank deposits before undergoing the procedure.

Well, marriages only get reversed about 50% of the time. Clearly marriage is the bigger commitment.

I got snipped first and married second. I thought marriage was a bigger commitment because I did the snip for me and the marriage for us.
