Vista Start Menu
Is there anyway to get the start menu to look like it does in XP? I don't want to go to classic view, but I don't want to have to scroll up and down after i go into the programs bar. That's the only part I'm trying to change. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Vista Start Menu
Right click on the Start Orb > Properties > Classic look You might be able to get some of the new Start Menu stuff back playing around with the customize buttons.

Re: Vista Start Menu
Right click the Start button and click Properties. From the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box, click the Advanced button. If you are using the Classic Start menu, scroll through the list of Advanced Start menu options and remove the check beside Scroll Programs. If you are using the Start menu style, click the Advanced tab from the Customize Start Menu window. Scroll through the Start menu items and remove the check beside Scroll Programs. Click OK

Re: Vista Start Menu
While I personally love the new Vista start menu, Kerowo's post is your answer. I just tried it and presto, there is the XP style start menu. That's the solution.
One thing you might remember about the Vista start menu is that you can click down in the search box after you open the start menu and type in the name of the program you want to open. As you type the programs with that and similar names will start to appear at the top of the menu. I'm sure you know this but I thought I'd point it out. It's really very fast, much faster for me than seaching for the program name even in the XP style menu. Just a thought. Good luck. |
