My friends and I enjoy the Imperial Palace room the most for weekends of drinking. I'll go play 15/30 at Bellagio or Wynn during the day, then we'll start drinking, and instead of wasting money at table games, we will go play 2/4 limit and get all the drinks we want.

They are very quick with their drinks, the IP 2/4 game is probably the best place in Vegas to get drunk at in terms of cheapness and quickness. You can beat the game very very very easily obviously, but thats no fun when you drink.

So me and three buddies sit in a row, and when the BB is to our right, we straddle, blind raise, and blind reraise, capping the action preflop before anyone gets cards....good times. Also playing in the dark to the river is a must, as well as thin river value bets with Q high when heads up with one another.

And they have about 8 tables, a couple 1/2, and a few 2/4 going most of the time, usually shorthanded. And for the gambler in you, something new they have...The first table once you enter the room has "Flop a Lock" where you can bet $1-3 on the flop, and it pays out the same as the bonus on three card poker, paying out pairs, straights, flushes, three of a kind, and straight flushes. That is the first time I ever actually took money from a poker room....

Go Vegas!!!

I love Flop a Lock I made more money one morning on Flop a Lock than I did in limit. Usually play NL, but limit was the only table, it was 9 a.m., and I was waiting for my bf to finish a meeting.

I really like the IP cardroom and plan to always play a session there when I'm in Vegas.

As I said, I'm going to try the Flamingo next time, but I'd stay at IP again for the price and convenience.

Same, although that was before they moved it.

Once, after many many beers, I had the nuts on the river. Villain was contemplating calling - I say to him, "If you call, just throw your chips to the dealer. That's his tip."

Sure enough he calls, and I push his $4 straight to the dealer.

What is the easiest way to get to the Rio if staying at IP? Is there a shuttle somewhere or do you have to take a cab?

I think its all about your preference. If you are a weanie and a wussy who has problems staying in a normal motel 6 or average hotel, then IP isn't for you. I know a lot of fussy people for that.

For me, I could give a rats arse cuz I'm having fun outside the room.

The best thing about IP is the location. Center strip at a discount price.
