Signing up to Pokerstars (how to?)

Are there benefits to signing up a specific way? I have a friend who I plan on exchanging funds with, so sign-up bonuses aren't exactly important. I'm told there's no rakeback on pokerstars (tell me if I'm wrong) and so I'm not looking for that...Just want to know if there's a 'right way to do it' before I do it.
