I wouldn't put him on an Ace here. He's probably got a hand like KJ, QJ, maybe JT. An Ace isn't out of the question, but anyway you slice it, I think you're beat here. I don't see him making this play with a pair of 8's. I think you're either up against trip aces, a boat, or (most likely) a jack with a higher kicker than your 9.

Plus, I don't know that many villains that will call a PF raise, then re-pop you on the flop, and bet the remaining streets with air. That would be a high stakes cash game play, and I wouldn't expect to see it at a $30 SNG. I'd give him credit for a hand and fold here.

This hand is so read dependent and tough. Any reads? Villain, capable of making a big semi bluff with a hand like T9 here? Folding and calling are pretty close. That is a tough spot. However, if you are going to fold, you have to do it on the turn. The pot is big and villain will probably fire another bullet on the river unless he doesn't have balls to do it. You can't put him on an ace here, however.

I dont see how this is read dependent. This is almost always a fold at these stakes.

Which means it is read dependant because players at these stakes don't splash around. So it is read dependant actually.

You have to fold on the turn.

I meant that you only call if he has a maniacal image

If you have a read that he will call ATC or an extremely high % OOP you can probably call the turn and river, otherwise you might want to fold.

You are ahead of hands against plenty of people in the 33s though, the competition is not as "solid" as people are making it seem in this thread.

Edit: By calling ATC PF I meant to the minraise, and he has to have a certain image postflop, like a fairly laggy player who likes to make moves.

I dunno, throw down some reads you've established unless this is a site that starts w BB 30, in which case fold I think.

Okay, results time!

I am villian actually and reverted the handhistory to see if you think that the guy can call here with J9 with looking from it from his perspective and then see if the borderlinebluff would be a good or a bad one.
