Default Bet a few games or alot??

How many of you bet alot of games instead of a few so-called "sure" games? In my experience, I've found that I'm better picking as many as possible and hoping that my educated hunches pay off in the long run. I also like flat betting, where in the past I've gotten into big trouble betting on "locks". It's not odd for me to wager at least 10x of my bankroll a month. Thoughts? Am I crazy?

YTD:
NCAAF: 23-12
NFL: 7-10

I really don't have any set method myself. Last two years I would just make like 2 big bets a week. If I lost the first one then i'd martingale the second one. That gets kinda stressful though when you're doubling up and you got like 4k on a game because you lost 2 in a row. This past week I bet like 7 little bets and won like 5 of them which would be an equivalent of winning a big bet. So I'm kinda for hedging my bets nowadays.

Bankroll is 20k. He has a volume of 200k a month. He bets many different events.

Obv. this is not for football unless OP is insane.

[/ QUOTE ] True. What the hell would I do on the weekdays ?!! It's amazing some of the soft lines you can find in such sports as Arena Football, WNBA, and even tennis. The more you get involved in different events, the more experience you can build on.

That Martingale strategy will f*ck you in the ass eventually. Even if you're a winning bettor, you'll hit a cold streak. I was over 65% on college football bets until the last week of the regular season last year and then the last week, I went 0-12. I wasn't using Martingale strategy or anything, and I still retained about half of my seasonal profit. Just saying that cold streaks do come.

As to the original question:

In the long run, you will make money every time you place a +ev bet, and lose money on every -ev bet. If you are capable of finding a large number of +ev wagers, then betting a small amount on all of them will keep your variance down, and allow you to get into the "long run" much quicker, making it a preferable strategy for most people.

The danger in betting too many games, though, is that if you start putting money on games where you don't have an edge the -ev can eat into your profits very quickly.

The obvious "correct" answer is to find as many +ev games as possible and bet them all, while avoiding all -ev games. And obviously, it's easier said than done.
