Wow, I think he was just mad about busting out. Saying what the outs are during an all-in hand is pretty much standard at least where I play. Cards speak anyway so its not like you are changing the outcome.

i wouldn't worry too much about pissing off a frat-boy. he can drown his sorrows by listening to his favorite dave matthews album and playing foosball.

[/ QUOTE ]

Now now, there's no reason to bad mouth foosball.

Back to OP, I don't see how this is rude. I probably would have retorted to Frat guy about how you were just helping him out because you didn't think his poker skills were up to determining what cards he needed to avoid. That, of course, would have been rude.

You didn't do anything wrong.

Some people are just jerks.

If he got in my face, I'd be forced to call the floor. It's either that or I dot him.

Just stating what the outs are shouldn't be a big problem. But I've seen folks who did this in a way it appeared they were rooting for the outs to come. And it kinda sounds like you may have done this (you say you laughed about it, and I imagine when it hit there was some further laughter and/or celebration).

Mind you, this wasn't a cash game, it was a tournament. You WERE hoping he'd bust so you'd be in the money. And anybody who busts on the bubble who thinks every remaining player was not rooting against him is kidding himself. But it's still impolite to be too outward about this.

For me, I either eat the [censored] sandwich or get tossed for punching the moron.

Since I just got in the money, I'll eat the [censored] sandwich, even though I don't like bread.

I put up with a lot from old people. Yesterday I kept getting chirped by this old lady at the table for "raising with nothing" where in her definition "nothing" was things like TPTK. I'm usually alright at ignoring snide comments from people that don't know how to play, but she kept going. So we kept going through this cycle of her making 4 or 5 comments, me getting pissed and snapping back at her, me feeling bad for bitching at an old lady and going quiet, getting in another hand with her, rinse and repeat.

Suggesting that your wife not block the guy in might be helpful too.

Unethical? Do people understand the meaning of the word in this Forum?

Rude? Personally, no. Yelling "Come on Queen or Jack!" would be rude. You just pointed out a fact. You think the Delta Omega Nu Kappa member would have said anything if the river were a King?

[/ QUOTE ]

EXACTLY!

It's not like there's action left, what did the comment affect? Did he make the "outs" magically appear by making the observation....guy who busted was a douche!
