Default been on a downturn, advice please?

Preflop: Hero is in Button with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">UTG folds</font>, <font color="gray">UTG+1 folds</font>, <font color="gray">CO folds</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to t450</font>, SB calls t375, <font color="gray">BB folds</font>

Flop: (t1050) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

How about pushing preflop or should I just fold? I hate the way I played it.

Yeah raising is bad here, you either need to be shoving or folding preflop. You could probably argue for either play depending on how the tabling is playing.

push preflop, yes
when we got a bigger stack, a t375-raise is standard

Mos def push or fold.

An easy general way to look at it is this: if your going to raise and after that raise you have under 10bb you misplayed your hand. The only 2 times when I believe there is an exception to this rule (for me at least) is if you have AA or KK or somehow based on a read you have of opponenet you know its better to raise then shove/fold. For example hyper agro opponent in bb comes over top of any steal attempt id make it 3.5x to go w/ aa, kk call his shove. Bad idea generally to do this w/ qq or lower because if he flat calls theres more then 1 over can hit the flop and land you in trouble. Goodluck out there man.

I think shoving might be unexploitable, but it's deffinately positive vs. their call range.
