Default ACER AL2216W 22\' LCD

I am looking to buy an LCD to hook up to my laptop so I can 2 table comfortably (eventually 4 table) for $200-$300. 1600x1200 is the standard obviously. Does this change with wide screens?

ACER 22" LCD Monitor 1600x1050

What do you guys think?

How do you go about doing this once you have another moniter?

I have a brand new laptop, so it should be very easy to install a new monitor.

My basic question is: Will this Acer monitor allow me to 4 table with ease or do I NEED a LCD monitor with 1600x1200 resolution.

It comes down to personal preference and weather you play at sites w/ re-sizable tables. 800x600 game table windows obv can't fit 2 vertically w/ less than 1200 vertical pixels. You need to either not mind the 150 pixel overlap, not mind resizing (shrinking) the tables to 700x525, or get a monitor w/ 1200 or better vertical resolution.

Play at Stars.

I wish there was some way to see how much of an inconvenience that 150 vertical pixel difference would be.

I LOVE THAT 22" LCD, but I may have to go with 20" Planar

The size of the monitor isn't as important as the resolution of the monitor. Having a 30" monitor with a resolution the same as a 20" monitor means both monitors will show the same amount of table overlap.

If your lappy has VGA or DVI plug on it installing a new monitor is as simple as plugging it in and figuring out which function key sends the signal to it.

I tried searching for a screenshot for you - no luck.

My Samsung CRT is 1600x1200 but can be set to 1680x1050(a widescreen res.).

If you can do this with your laptop or a regular PC monitor the screen is scewed (out of proportion), but opening 4 regular sized tables will give you an idea of the overlap.
