There isn't a ton of NL anywhere in Reno. I was just up there a month ago and Peppermill had a hard time getting any type of NL started and it kept dieing within an hour each night (thurs-sat). www.pokerinreno.com

Most places have really a garbage game selection too.

I'd also recommend the Peppermill as well. If you splash around in other games or the wife plays slots even at the Penny level, their players club is fairly liberal with the comps and free rooms once you get established.

The wife and I haven't paid for a room or most of our meals in the last several visits gathering points mostly playing .25-.50 VP, Live Poker, and .01 slots (wife) and a little table games mixed in.

I'd recommend the Peppermill. Here is my experience there.

Sorry to hijack this post, but I thought I'd bump this instead of starting a new thread.

I'm thinking of playing in Reno for three weekdays in December (great airline deal from Alaska), and I'm interested in playing in Reno too. I see there are mostly hold'em and stud games around. I play around 4/8, 6/12 and am interested in any mixed games in town. How is the Omaha/8 action?

I was there in September, went to 6 different rooms, no stud, omaha, and rarely a no limit game. Nothing above 4/8 limit and most was 2/4 limit.

Mostly 2/4??? What a donk fest. Thanks for the input. Are you saying there was no Omaha?

The Reno Hilton (now called Grand Sierra Resort) is having a tourney Dec 8-17 (all no limit hold'em). Buyins from $100 to $1500. Two a day. Should be some good side action then. Really, the only time to find good games is when the Grand Sierra and Peppermill have tourneys.

I stay at the Peppermill all the time.
They had an Omaha8 game going for a while, and still get it one or two days a week. Same goes for no limit hold'em.
