A friend of mine started playing 6max again after some heads-up experiments. I know he was nitty before that (so do I tend to be) but something must have happened recently.

He is playing on Party (NL50) and got the impression that loose play does not get rewarded easily. So he tightened up and made a good profit, but when I analysed his hhs I realized why:

I know samplesize bla bla, but this is VERY indicative of his style.

I suck at poker myself so I really dont wanna give him tips that make matters worse rather than better. So where could he go, what should he post/ask/do to get some advice on how to change this?

heīs running [censored] hot. just look at his w@sd

no kidding he is. His adjusted equity is 0.8bbs/100. There is actually a good chance that hes a losing player (continuing the style he has adopted now). [Sorry if you read this, but thats what the stats say]

I can see that what he is doing is under no circumstances profitable, but I dont know how to give him good advice on how to change that.

Don't think it's really hard to improve his play.

He is raising <12% first in OTB, CO, etc.

He's not very positionally aware.

Even at 50nl, you can't really nit it up and expect to get paid forever.

After playing HU he should be comfortable playing 20/17 or w/e.

Really - used to play a bit of limit but never went back to it - is it really that profitable?

Are any of you guys Superraki, AdviQ, or krechmaaden on party 50? Funny hand came up a while ago. It went something like this -

Effective 75 - Hero is button with 55

Superraki raises UTG to 2, Hero calls, rest fold.

Flop rag, rag, 5. Superraki bets 4, Hero raises 11, Superraki calls.

Turn is an Ace, SR checks, Hero bets 17, SR calls.

River completes some straights but is not too dangerous - SR checks, Hero shoves, SR calls with JJ. Here is the ensuing strategy discussion [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

SuperRaki: obviously the idiot hits
(someone else says something calling me a donk etc. but I can't remember who is was or what they said - I'm just piecing the conversation together from the HHs)
Me: ?
Me: I didn't do anything wrong guys, I had a set
SuperRaki: of course
SuperRaki: u8 calls preflop for a two outer
Me: and then you put all your money in with an overcard showing
Me: do you see why?
SuperRaki: cause u r an idiot
Me: lol
Me: yeah im a payoff wizard
Me: i always pay off when i hit a set
SuperRaki: i have to learn that ecven idiot hit
AdviQ: superraki u my hero
SuperRaki: [censored] u
krechmaaden: he is completly on tilt
AdviQ: dont call preflop on two outer NOBODY
krechmaaden: t i l t
