I raise more pre-flop (like to t200) and then push his raise on the flop as I would guess he's calling with AK here or any set in a $4.40/180 so as to get it all in. I don't hate your line as you're getting it all in anyway on turn and are in position anwyay.

EDIT: don't spoil it but I bet he had something donkish like KQ clubs and backdoored the flush

I would have made it 180-200 preflop.

As played I would have bet more (300-350) on the flop. The villain is not folding an ace so you want to make sure that all of the money gets in when he has an ace.

As played on the flop I would not 3-bet his check raise.

As played, after he bets the turn I would just call to make sure that the money gets in on the river. The push is also fine but I do not want the villain to make a 'heroic' (read: standard) laydown with AQ since he can't really put you on anything less than AK here. Obviously the average 4.40 donk is not putting you on a hand so the money was going in here pretty much always.

Why do people keep suggesting people raise 6-7 times the big blind with aces? Isn't that a little much?

I believe Cornell nailed this one. Though if I was playing I bet you I would have 3 bet that flop for all the wrong reasons....interesting angle.

Because in the beginning of a $4 180 people will call any raise, with any trash.

Get as much in the middle as soon as possible. The more you raise preflop, the more they think you're bluffing.

Raise more preflop, bet at least 1/2 pot (2/3 pref) on the flop.

Also, pre-flop you had an UTG raiser so you need to make sure you raise more than just the normal 3-5x as you have someone who's shown strength and you don't want to give the blinds odds to come along for the ride - AA is very strong 2-handed but 4-handed it can get you into some difficult spots
