FJM has mentioned this incident numerous times when they discuss Kay. I know when I read something like "Reader Dave checks in with this lovely bit of investigative mathematics from Yankee broadcaster and Comparer-of-Trivial-things-to-War-Crimes Michael Kay" or "Idea that Announcer Can Jinx Perfect Game = Holocaust." I thought, 'Wow, Kay really is an idiot'. But, after listening to the actual call, it isn't that bad and is somewhat valid (though maybe could have been stated differently or he could have used examples of events in the U.S.) The caller's line of thinking can be dangerous and should be questioned (I realize it was just a game).
