Sorry to hear about school. I started messing up early on this semester. It started off with me 'strategically skipping' a few classes to hit up this juicy game at a rival University about 45 minutes away. I ran well and played well the first 3 times I drove out there, and cashed a little sum'-sum'. Naturally I declared myself God of All Things Poker and started to contemplate whether or not I could afford to drop 2 classes and continue to play in this game. Then.......BAM. Variance. The next few times I skipped class/quiz/test to play the game, I got salted. KK loses to 99 for a huge pot 4 handed (OOTM), the following week I get it all in 3 ways with the nuts (flopped the joint with J-10), and the only guy to have me covered hit his set on the turn, and filled up on the river.

Needless to say, I had already missed quite a bit of material from my harder classes, the classmates that were once giving me their notes decided to teach me a firm lesson by not returning my calls. I am currently busting my ass to squeeze out at least an 85, but a lesson well learned.

I suggest you really start to remind yourself that the game of poker will not cease to exist or evaporate in the near future. Seriously, it sounds like an obvious statement, but its imperative that you get it. You can still be a successful poker player at age 47. I can't really see myself having the patience and desire to finish college at 47 though.
