I drove up from Va and played all weekend. I didn't have any problems at all.. cage was fast, and jumped in 1-2NL each time I played.. 8amFri 6pmFri 11pm Fri. 3pm Sat... Although some players complained about my internet-style gaming. One told me to go back to ultimate bet.. LOL sucka

I believe a couple of my buddies and I are going to go down sometime this week. Just trying to find a good day to check it out... But I've got that Wheeling Feeling. I fully expect it to be horrid, and I'm leaning towards limit play, simply to rule out the "luckbox" factor.

That actually brings up a really good question - Can those of you who have played there talk about the type of play, level of player, skill, etc?

For instance, is the 4/8 game beatable if you play a-b-c poker? Do you have people calling with gutshots all the way? Is the 1/2NL game having 6 people call $15 pre flop?

I want some old, passive players!

well.. the 1/2 NL I was playing all weekend except for sat night might as well have been a 1/2/12 NL game.. thats basically what it was.. several pots looked as if it was a 2/4 or 5/10 game.. you would have the old locals go all in with Jack high and 50 dollar raises with A9 off suit in early position.. it was very all over the place but once you got settled in it was a very easy read on most people.

yeah. when i played it was nothing to see 6 or 7 people to a flop with a raise to $15. They just thought you were bluffing all the time. They wouldn't fold. All this would've been great if i could've gotten delt. :0) My boss brought back this story from this past weekend: There was a rainbow board with K-9-4. 3 players went all-in, 2 with weak K's and 1 with A9. Over $700 in this pot and it was taken down with K7. He was playing 1/2 NL, btw.

you hit the main points to address csabo (especially the ridiculous lammers playing/not playing rules.)

i'd also suggest getting some $100 chips. and while not necessary some massage gals would definitely be a nice touch. chopping would also be a good option for players to have imo.

Chopping is allowed, although i think ive saw it fold around maybe twiced since we opened lol. The hundo chips are in the process of being made, when we first opened we actually had a $3 chip which was supposed to be brown. Well it showed up black, so i think they had to re design the 100 chips. Good news it only took them a week to realize the $3 chip was a bad idea and there gone now. I look for the $100 chips to start playing around january when table games open up.

I was in the room the night when the floor had all the dealers get these out of the racks, they looked grey to me, but probably could be easily confused with Black. I know the red chips look kind of funky, not a bright red at all.

I thought the idea for the $3 chips was so that the rake box doesn't get full as fast with $1 chips. Regardless, I think there are players that like to play 9/18 that love $3 chips. Not that I play that limit, strickly low stakes for me.

Since you mentioned it, any hard dates on this? My wife likes the craps table and it will become much easier to have trips for me to play poker if she gets to play craps. Oh, and I probably can't wait to waste my money on Blackjack and Pai Gow Poker and then think, "Why didn't I just play poker again?"

No hard dates, just first of the year is what i hear.

Yes the chip was for the rake, but some of the inexperienced dealers where having a lot of trouble keeping racks right because of them.

Are they really spreading NL Omaha? How gross would that be?

Any updates on quality of play? Limits? Room? Progress?
I'm trying to decide between Mountaineer and Wheeling.

Thanks!
