Default live 10/25, top set, river play?

this was one of the more interesting hands i've played in a while. 10/25 at foxwoods, table has been fairly loose preflop but not really getting out of line much afterwards. i have ~7k, which is about average for the table.

i make it 125 utg+1 with qq, five people call. most of the callers are fairly new to the table, although my image is probably tight/solid in general. flop comes q72 rainbow and i check first to act. everyone else checks behind me.

turn is a 6, putting two diamonds on the board. 760 in the pot. i bet 500, one guy folds, and a guy who i think was jcmoussa calls. the three players behind him all fold.

river is an offsuit 5. 1760 in the pot. villain has me covered, i have 6300 behind. your play?

Bet the flop. Doesn't have to be too big, but get some money in there. Stacks are deep and everybody will write it off as a cbet.

As played, I don't see why you'd do anything aside from just betting and at least calling any raise, barring live reads.

I'd probably bet like $1500

I should say I'm tempted to c/r the turn, but I think it might look too strong.

OTOH, it is a pretty goofy looking play, and depending on who bets and the action, it might just look like BS.

regardless of the game... raising ep + betting into five people on a board with no draws where i hold a lot of the cards that hit the deck... can i really expect a call more than half the time?

you need to build a pot regardless of what potential villains hold.

The problem with checking the flop is that when you wake up later in the hand, your hand looks really obvious,

Not sure how this is relavent, but this depends a lot on how much you bet.

I'd probably bet like half pot, maybe less, FWIW.

I say forget building a pot, the flop check is fine. Giving them a card and getting guaranteed action on the turn is where your profit will come from in this hand.

Checkraising the turn should be considered, but it obviously depends a lot on who acts after you.
