Default Hand against a reg with river paired

This is against a 17/14 reg who I think is pretty solid and doesn't act out of line. I'm running 20/17 at the table FWIW .

- $2/$4 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $428.00
BB: $390.00
Hero (UTG): $1,246.80
CO: $400.00
BTN: $394.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 Players)
<font color="red">Hero raises to $14.00</font>, 2 folds, SB calls $12.00, BB calls $10.00

Flop: ($42) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players)
<font color="red">SB bets $28.00</font>, BB folds, Hero calls $28.00

Turn: ($98) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets $80.00</font>, SB calls $80.00

River: ($258) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets $140.00</font>, <font color="red">SB raises to $280.00</font>, Hero folds

Pot Size: $538.00 ($3 Rake)

Anyone hate my bet sizing for river? Or flop play?

I pay this off usually, the odds are really good even though it looks like a boat.

That's why I didn't want to bet so big on the river, I didn't want to price myself in for a call. I wanted to avoid that situation but at the same time I didn't want to bet too small that induces a bluff that I would have to fold.

If hes never out of line I honestly don't know what we are hoping he calls with. We beat 67ss and AT, so as nitty as it is, and I am all for value betting anything and everything, what can we hope he calls with on the river?

So you're saying check it down once we hit because he never calls with worse?
