Default AA - extracting value

This hand came up today. Villain put me to the test with my AA and I decided to gamble and assume they were good. In the heat of the moment I shoved and I was right because he folded. But after the hand I got to thinking that shoving was stupid. If I decide my aces are good I should play to extract value, right?

So what's the recommended line here, when I decide to go all the way with my aces? Call and put him all-in on the river?

Texas Hold'em $1-$1 NL
Seat 1: BB ($35 in chips)
Seat 3: Hero [AS,AC] ($160.55 in chips)
Seat 6: CO ($71.50 in chips)
Seat 8: Button ($103.60 in chips)
Seat 9: SB ($22.75 in chips)
ANTES/BLINDS
SB posts blind ($0.50), BB posts blind ($1).

PRE-FLOP
Hero bets $4, CO calls $4, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds.

FLOP [board cards 5S,8C,9S ]
Hero bets $6, CO calls $6.

TURN [board cards 5S,8C,9S,3C ]
Hero bets $10, CO bets $20, Hero ???

On the flop, this board is very draw heavy, so you need to bet more than half the pot.

When you get minraised on the turn, I call that and check/call river if you think you are ahead.

If I think I'm ahead, shouldn't I value bet the river?

Depends on how you see the villain. There are some (many) players who will bet a worse hand here more often than they will call your bet. Suppose villain has air and his raise on the turn was a complete bluff. You don't make any money by betting out on the river, but you pick off his bluff if he trys to fire again. If you are in fact behind, and he had you all along, at least by check/calling you don't have to deal with a raise.

So, I like a check call there most of the time. What do other people think tho?

I would pot the flop and fold to the turn min raise.

Pot the flop
Call the turn
Lead 1/2 pot river OR c/call river bet.

What hand range are you putting him on when you call the turn min raise? I don't think check calling a sizeable bet on the river is acceptable with out a good read.

I thought villain had an overpair or a set here. If he has that, he's drawing to 2 outs or I'm drawing to 2 outs.

When I shove I lose my stack if I'm behind, but villain doesn't lose his stack if I'm ahead. So I need a line that will make villain lose his stack if I'm right and my aces are good.

I like calling the turn and then either try to induce a bluff on the river by checking or leading out.

Shoving was definitely a mistake...
