well perhaps we're on the right track but it's more of a gradual tuning in to jacob. i mean locke basically got his dad killed, may be 'in tune with the island,' etc. plus jacob, if he really is the smoke monster or is related to him, has some ability to manifest himself in other ways. so perhaps locke could get a glimpse or hear something, etc.

I was thinking along different lines. Ben is the leader b/c he can see/hear Jacob. Ben is insecure, however, about Locke and how the island seems to embrace him. When Ben recognizes that Locke can hear Jacob, he sees him as more of a threat and tries to kill him so he is still the only one who can see/hear Jacob.

I didn't think it has anything to do with if anyone killed anyone before.

I doubt they're caring about criticism at this point.

There will be three more series of Emmy-winning TV show Lost before it finally ends in 2010.

If Locke is killed and will no longer be with the show after this season...how much would that dampen your enjoyment of the show?

Personally I dig the Ben character..in large part because all his great scenes are always involving Locke. Remove Locke from the show and he doesn't do a ton for me character wise besides being evil.

1) when was Alex born in the time between when the hostiles took over Dharma?
2) why are the hostiles taking over the Dharma plans? richard is the guy who recruits Juliette but he was a hostile?
3) the smoke monster has to be related to the volcano in some way, or maybe ... the smoke monster is revealed as Jacob or Ben's mom or anything else, takes the form of what you imagine. everyone thats a hostile thinks Ben is somethin of a savant because Jacob isn't invisible.
the others talk about the list that Jacob wanted, he has to be real, i dont think Jacob is being held captive by Ben.
4)what is the reason that Jack is badass again? he could be covering up his tracks, he still could have been brainwashed
5)Ben knows he can't leave the island or lose control because he's a powerful man on the island, he'd be nothing in the real world. the same goes for Locke.
6) <font color="white"> the struggle between locke and jack in the season finale might be over whether or not to accept the rescue from that chick (i forgot her name) </font>

Oh, great. I guess we can add Ben to the pile of characters with daddy issues. Jesus, why do they call this show LOST? It should be called I HATE MY DAD.

Jack (ratted him out, left him to die an alcoholic)
Ben (killed him with poison gas)
Kate (blew up his house for insurance money [stepfather])
Locke (gave his kidney then strangled him on the island)
Sun (rich gangster, lies to him, runs away to America)
Hurley (deadbeat who came back for lottery money, Hurley wants nothing to do with him)
Jin (ashamed of his fisherman status, pretends he died when Jin was young)

First thought seeing those was he came from the Blackrock ship. who knows, but that some old school dress and wig. Looks kind of like Locke as well.

Duh. It was so obvious I forgot it. Plus they've been off the show for over a year. Hey, what about Eko? Is all we know of his dad that he was kidnapped by the gunmen when he was a kid and never really knew his parents? Only his brother?

And Ana Lucia -- her mom was a cop, but what about her dad? Non-existant? Claire... we see her fighting with her mom right? What about her dad? Juliet's parents never came into play; just her ex-husband. Boon and Shannon -- they were not real brother and sister, but I can't remember the dad thing; I think Boon hated him for some reason. Shannon's dad was rich or something. Charlie? Sayid?
