There's something to be said for the slightly harmless "time out" 15 minute ban just to save a thread from being ruined if the normal mods aren't around. I think that just kind requires everybody being more on the same page than we are right now.

#1: My main issue was that your "physical threat" reason was just such complete BS. Either you were full of **** and were just looking for an excuse to ban him, or your judgment and ability to read things in context is way worse than I previously gave you credit for. Had you said "Gave him a timeout for trolling" my reaction would have been quite different. "It just tilts the [censored] out of me when retards ruin threads in OOT and the mods aren't around to do anything about it." #2: You surely understand how that statement goes against everything Mat/Ryan have repeatedly stated regarding what they want mods to do regarding other forums, right?

Well I didn't actually think there was a chance this guy was going to come to nath's house and bash his teeth in, if that's what you're implying. But the admins and other mods have been pretty stringently intolerant of that type of post in the past, and given the history of the MC Chris account, it looked to me like a bannable offense. Again, probably a mistake.

Joe responds "Mia, if you break into my house, I will shoot you." You seriously think that is a ban-on-sight level offense by Joe? I am starting to believe you are actually being serious here, which is sorta blowing my mind.

I'm not taking sides here, but to Mia's point when someone posts DIAGF, we don't expect they're actually going to show up with Crisco and matches.
That being said, I can't see doing this one out of forum. Also, McChris has been a huge troll today.

That's a perfectly valid point. And having zero tolerance to even joking threats is a fine policy if that's what 2+2 wants. But if that's the case, I don't see why nath should be allowed to out of the blue threaten someone with smashing their mailbox.

I pretty much agree with all El Diablo has said regarding this matter. I think banning for events in another forum should only be taken when urgent action is required. I don't think there was any reason for urgent action in this case. I also think if any punishment was doled out it should be to both parties. It sounds as if the ban was reversed so all is well.
