announcement
I have decided to name a poker move after myself.
Verb: to strass Definition: to check raise bluff a river where the opponents remaining stack is less than his river bet. For example, you check, villain bets 2500, and folds for 2000 more. I dont think its too much to ask if i can just name this after myself, thanks! Does anyone have any strassings they can post? -Jason |

Re: announcement
I played a hand on UB a month ago:
25-50. Villain bets 300 I call with 86s. Flop A97 two clubs, i have no clubs. I lead 300, he calls. Turn blank 4. I bet 900, he calls. River comes A, does not complete flush. I check, he bets 2700 and I CR all in, he folds for 2000 more. |

Re: announcement
This seems like a play better left to the experts...
To clarify, must you be fairly sure that your raise will result in a fold, or does a desperate attempt at going bust so you can go do something else only to have your opponent fold also count as a strass? |

[/ QUOTE ] Strassa, Not to add too much strategy to NVG, but perhaps if you explained the rationale of the move it would enhance your case for having this moved named after you. I am dumb, so I don't quite understand when to use this move. If we take your above example, are you putting your opponent on a missed flush draw? If so at what point (so do you check the river giving up the hand and see his bet as scared and then realize you can take it away from him)? Or have you seen opponent on call flop and turn when weak and then seen him habitually bet the weak hand when checked to on river. Some clarification for the dense, please. |

Re: announcement
This announcement is tantamount to Hirohito's on August 15, 1945. (Or Derek Zoolander's unleashing of "Magnum".)
Kidding Strass. All the negative is just poker envy. I could never "strass" because: -I am too weak tight for this scenario to ever play out -I lack the balls -Villain would NEVER fold |
