Default Soccer: How about owning your own club?

Tried searching to make sure it hasn't been discussed before and wasn't able to find any results. Thus, I present to you . . .

http://www.myfootballclub.co.uk/

50,000 people plan on bidding on a soccer club. By laying down $72.00, they've generated $3.6M, which will be used to purchase a lower league club in England.

However, that's not the only intriguing part about this whole concept. All decisions will be voted online. Although a manager will be hired, his job is to only motivate the players and scout for the club. Tactics, transfers, and managerial decisions will all be voted on.

Although I can't see this ever occurring here in the US, what are your thoughts on the project? I thought it was a scam initially but the Cambridge United chairman stated he was open for the takeover.
