Re: 5/10 Tough turn wpot with QQ 150BBs deep
if you cr the turn bet, he shoves sets and 54 and folds when he has air. i believe he's just about priced in to get it in on the turn if he has a big combo draw, but he'd be making a slight mistake to get it in with just diamonds or something like 76.
if you just call the turn, i'm pretty sure he usually fires his whole range on the river. i think the hand is played well, and i fold now. this spot sucks; with 100bbs i think the hand is a lot easier to play. |

Re: 5/10 Tough turn wpot with QQ 150BBs deep
I've been away from the computer for the last 18 hrs or so..... didn't realize this gennerated so much discussion. What made this hand tough here was the lack of history involved between villain and I. If I had more hands on him, and had a good grasp on the way he plays, my decision here is obviously much easier. I still believe that folding here is better than shoving or calling given the circumstances, but I still hate it since villain is obviously competant, and I would think he's raising a tonnnnn of his range here on the flop given he has position in a HU pot, annd this is the type of board that people love bluffing at, and continuing on the turn with ATC. Are people serious about him having JJ here? Pretty sure that after his turn bet JJ makes up about .000001% of his range. For people saying call the turn, and make a decision on the river...... what river cards are you c/fing? c/cing? I think if we call the turn here we should be calling any river since if he's bluffing, a diamond is obviously an awesome card to bluff shove the river. I dunno, I'm still confused here, but after hearing some responses, it sounds like I made the right choice.

Re: 5/10 Tough turn wpot with QQ 150BBs deep
I think folding > calling > shoving. This is a sweet double barrell card for him if he raised the flop with a ton of different hands, either pure bluffs or draws. I like calling and re-evaluating the river if I wanted to continue with the hand. I just don't like shoving much, but I'm speaking intuitively and haven't done any real math on if calling or shoving is better. A lot depends on his postflop tendencies which we don't know, ie how likely he is to check this turn with a draw or to keep firing, how likely he is to bluff various rivers after we call the turn, how often he bluff raises flops, etc.
