Question to those who say they don't want children:

What if you did in fact get a girl (wife/gf/random chick) knocked up?

Question to those who say they don't want children:

What if you did in fact get a girl (wife/gf/random chick) knocked up? Would you you find any pleasure at all in parenting or would you just end up resenting the kid forever? Do you think your opinion of children or having children would change after having one of your own? Or would it just confirm everything you've already believed? And more broad generalized questions like that yada yada yada.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm sure I'd do fine and probably enjoy being a parent. I'd just enjoy not being a parent more, in my judgement.

Because if everyone felt like you we'd be history. Please don't take that as a dig because it isn't. I think it's awesome that you're able to be honest with yourself and others about your feelings.

Like you said you're feelings could change but probably won't.

True, but the reality is that most don't feel this way.

The only person I know who wants kids less than me is my wife.

Thank god.

We don't need anymore population in this world.

[/ QUOTE ]

The idea that the world is overpopulated is completely wrong and dumb and invented by environmentalists. Find a better argument pls.

[/ QUOTE ]

So we wouldn't be better off with less people on this planet?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, the "people suck" argument is quite different from the "world is running out of room" argument, but from an economic standpoint, nope, more people are better.

[/ QUOTE ]

Interesting observation.

This is the 1st time people have actually questioned me on that part of my statement. I'll have to give what you all have said some thought and may change my statement a bit.

I still believe that having kids is selfish and egotistical.

Way better to know you don't want kids before you have them than after.
