Default Weird Router Problem

I am running an older Linksys 802.11b router and I have G cards in both of my computers.

Whenever I try to play a Listen Live link from some of the AM stations the connection times out, and I completely loose my internet to all computeres. For some reason my work laptop works ok, but my two home desktops both have this problem. Whenever it times out I lose the internet to all machines.

I tried it today from my main desktop plugging into the cable modem and everything worked great. I would prefer not to toss my router right now, so does anyone have any ideas what may be causeing this ? Both systems are running XP, one has WMP 9 and the othrer WMP 11. Both use AVG and ZA. But I have tried it with those off. Timing is funny beause my Dell ws working fine before I reformatted it a few weeks ago, but I have had problems like this in the past, only not this bad.

Do you have the latest firmware for your router installed? Thats about all the help I can offer.

yes, I have the firmware updated. I was wondering if I could let WMP have more bandwidth, but I have never played with that.

[/ QUOTE ] This is interesting. What do you have to do to reinstate net access to all machines? When the net goes out, do any lights flash funny on the router? On the machines that have lost internet, can you go through the net troubleshooting steps in the FAQ and see how disconnected they actually are?

from what I can tell, the lights still blink on the router and modem as normal. I havent checked the back of the machine when I am connected to the lan to see what it is doing, but the message is that I am connected to the router but the internet cannot be found. I need to power the modem and router on and off to recover. I will checkout the FAQ steps.
