Why do I bet the flop?

I figured I should have shoved turn, but I worried I had a caller that I would scare off.

Betting flop is weird..
Shoving turn is optimal because you have the straight but a lot of rivers sucks., 7, J or Q sucks. Club is not great.

i think shoving makes too many hands fold...

make it 3$ on turn, so river is an instacall.

I like it a lot - villain doeesnt figure to have a big hand so kinda pricing him in seems like the best way to stack him.

I usually hate this kinda play but against shortstack villains I think this is almost definitely the best line to get the money in, assuming were getting it in on any river
