Default 50NL ugly top pair

No reads!

Is this a call? How could i have played it differently?

Raise the flop. BB's bet of $2 into an $8 pot could very well be a weak ace or a spade flush draw. SB flat calling behind you could easily be a draw as well.

Bet the turn. You could easily be ahead here, at least find out where you stand.

As played, call the river.

Raise the flop (bet the pot). In this situation, call and hope for the best.

as others have said,
raise the flop

the bet looks like a flush draw trying to 'set' the price, a weak ace 'probing' for info, or a monster trying to suck-bet (less than 10% of the time).



seeing as you didn't raise the flop, bet the turn 100%. Don't let your opponents get there for cheap. You have position, make draws pay, make weak aces pay. Get VALUE!

River is a call all day long...you've done nothing to indicate you have top pair.

You guys had right of course. He had a weaker ace and i let him hit his two pair on the river for cheap.

Hopefully that teaches me to raise this flop.
