Default ($22s) OMG JJ on the BB, blinds at 1200 and much action...

I should fold here, right?

Party Poker
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t600/t1200
4 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: t7844
Button: t4116
SB: t4310
Hero: t3730

Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG raises all-in t7844, Button calls all-in t4116, SB folds, Hero ???

Fold, button's range is too small for you to call here. Obviously if it was just UTG, then it's an easy call with JJ.

i dont think button's range is that small. he only has 3.5 bb's.

i probably would have called but im not sure if that is the right play

If button knows how to play, then he's calling with a small range (5%). If he doesn't he might be calling this with hands like 55/KJ/AT.

FYI, A correct +EV call by button if Villian is pushing any 2, like he probably should, is 77+/AJs+/AKo

Not folding here. The blinds are 1/3 of your stack.

You're screwed here if button beats UTG, then they both have 4-5kish stacks, and you're stuck with 3k with 1200 blinds. This has to be your best chance to get money in the pot.

I could be wrong though

I think it's safe to say that UTG is pushing almost anything given his chip stack. BB probably calling tight, which means that the odds are that BB will win, so you'll now be the short stack with <2000 chips after you post SB next hand. OTOH, if you call and win, you'll have >1/2 the chips in play. That's just too good to pass up with JJ, even if there's a chance you can slip into the money by folding. Call and pray.

Pretty easy fold because of stack sizes. What am I missing?
