Vin Scully seems to be widely revered among his colleagues, if not all the fans. I've never really understood this, but also only heard him occasionally.

I'm guessing that much of the admiration he receives from his colleagues, though, is due to his being "technically" good. In other words, I assume he's considered very good at the basics of providing the pertinent information in a timely, regular manner. Other than that, I really don't get his great appeal, though I seem to be in the minority on this.

Euro's bandbox riff is stupid. Every announce team across the country refers to CBP that way. They're not trying to rewrite comedy recordbooks; it's just an easy way to remind and/or inform people that some stats and analysis requires park context. and sure, I'm sure some announce crews may mention that balls fly out of CBP better than at most yards, but it's just a passing comment. The SNY guys love to say it and think it's hilarious every time they get to work in a joke about it.
