You don't need an exterminator for ants. Raid makes poison that kills the queen and thus the colony. Leave that out for a couple days then fill the areas that they come out of with boric acid (<$3, available at supermarkets in US). Had an infestation last week, they were gone completely in <72 hours.

The bait things work great, spray around your door to your bedroom and stuff so they wont go in there in the meantime, but the bait things work well.
