El D is correct. Always play behind the line, not ball in hand at a bar.

The official way to rack clearly makes the most sense.

I like the way she never smiles. So mean-looking. So hot. I think she would have been a good POW interrogator in another life.

She can interrogate me any time.

K,

"This is super standard that you have to hit another one in after the break."

Pool halls, yes, super standard.

Bars, I would say it is slightly more common for it to NOT be an open table as long as you hit one in on the break.

Yeah open table on one ball in is the one thing I always ask before the game because it's so random which way it can go. Often the locals look at you like you're crazy that it could possibly be any other way.

Jasper,

Serious question here, I'm honestly curious. Have you ever played pool at a bar in America?

In Canada. Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, and assorted small towns.

Why?

Jasper,

Just that your responses in this thread sounded really weird compared to others who are obviously familiar with American bar pool. Now I see it's simply that you thought what people do in Canada has some relation to anything that matters.

Crap, I forgot that anything Canadian didn't matter. You need to remind me dude, as sometimes I just get carried away in thinking that we in any way are comparable to you.

I apologize and won't do it again.
