2 questions about the George Foreman Grill
I don't have an oven in my apartment, so other than the microwave this has become my main cooking utensil. Two questions...
1. I know that it was initially marketed as a health product with claims that it would take the fat out of the stuff it cooks. And indeed there is liquid(which I presume to be the fat) that seeps out of every piece of meat that I cook on it and into the little tray. My question is this: Does that mean that theres actually less fat(and more importantly saturated fat) then in the foods I eat than what it says on the label? 2. How the hell do you guys clean these things? Seriously its the biggest pain in the ass ever. Usually right after cookings its too hot to clean plus I want to eat anyway. So I'll soak it in water, then come back and turn it back on to heat it up a bit, and then scrub....but even still theres always a bunch of meat really stuck to the grill and I've been scrubbing so hard that the paints coming off! |

you submerse an electric grill in water?!

Re: 2 questions about the George Foreman Grill
Not submerse, but I put it under the faucet for a second and then let it sit in the sink while I eat.

Re: 2 questions about the George Foreman Grill
It will be far easier to clean while its still hot, just get a sponge really wet and go to town.
As for the fat loss, there will be very very little difference than using a pan. |

Re: 2 questions about the George Foreman Grill
Assani,
The key to cleaning is to wipe it off immediately after cooking. Very easy. If you don't wanna do that, get a G5 w/ removable plates. |

Does anyone have any good recipes for this thing?? Everytime I use it I end up getting a piece of meat that's so dry that it's like eating a dish rag.
