Best strategy for large field donkaments...

I have a horrible trek in large feild tournaments (4k+) like sunday mill on stars.

what's the optimal strategy ? super tight in beginning.......? and wait for big hands cause u know the donks will prollly pay off? or see a bunch of cheap flops and get in real hard situations?
