Default 25-50 AA i hate full ring

ok so im newish to the table, and it has been pretty passive preflop so far, lots of limping, stuff like utg raise gets 17 callers, etc, so i pop it up a bit overpot pf to see what happens.. anyways, plays out like..

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

CO ($7960)
Button ($8024)
SB ($5844)
Hero ($5259)
UTG ($4925)
UTG+1 ($2927)
MP1 ($6631)
MP2 ($5050)
MP3 ($5083)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $25.
2 folds, MP1 calls $50, 1 fold, MP3 calls $50, 2 folds, SB (poster) completes, Hero raises to $261, MP1 folds, MP3 calls $261, SB folds.

Flop: ($722) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $555, MP3 calls $555.

Turn: ($1832) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets $1000, Hero calls $1000.

River: ($3832) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks.

ok so.. so far, i duno if this is standard, i dont play full ring much at all, and villain is just random donk i presume. anyways.. whats my plan here? i have about a pot sized bet left, should i be check folding? should i have bet the turn? should i have check raised the turn? as of now, initial reaction is to check/fold to a shove.. too nitty? thoughts? holla

i would think b/f or b/c if you think you're good, or c/r turn are better than c/c. pretty likely you have an overpair after c/c turn and unless you have a read of some sort i'd think c/c is pretty bad.

3/4+ pot the turn. Nothing good is coming from the check call. He could have anything with that 1K bet. He could be putting you on a steal preflop.

The way you played it, I hope you check called river.

Your $311 pre-flop raise is a difficult amount. It is an amount that both telegraphs to your opponents what you hold and at the same time gives them the odds they need to call and try to outdraw you.

A bigger raise denies them the odds they need. A smaller raise keeps the pot smaller. I would go with a bigger raise, or make sure you're popping it from the blinds often enough to significantly blur your range.

Bet 1/2 pot to 3/4 pot on turn. Fold to a push if you respect him, call if you don't.

With one call you can also sometimes check the flop to control the pot size and or let them put you on a wiffed AK/Air.

bet folding. If you pot the turn, he knows you've got the overpair. Essentially you're defining your hand on the turn. Now it's up to him to decide if your the type of guy to call a push with an overpair, or fold. (If he's marginal)

When I'm new to the table, I like to play straight forward. If he comes over the top of you on the turn with some type of draw, more power to him.

are you advocating making it something like 400-500 PF? that seems silly. if i raise out of the blinds like that, its always more than pot, but never by much more than 1 bb, and i do it with 67s as well as AA, so meh. holla
