Default Citibank has joined the e-savings craze...

Looks like they jumped on the ING/Emigrant bandwagon and now offer an e-savings acct with a 4.5% APY.
Good deal if you're already a citibank customer as no more waits for transfers between accts etc.
Apologies if this was alraeady posted.

This is probably one of the most difficult e-savings accounts ever in terms of processing procedure. I signed up 10 days ago and I'm still waiting for their "starter package" so I can transfer the damn funds. Complete bull$hit.

It took me about 30 seconds. I already have a citi acct so it was literally just a few clicks and I have cash already in there.

That's the thing, you can't! Because you need the starter kit to get a pin number. And you can't fund your account without your pin number! Like I said...straight bull****

Keep us posted. I've got some dough in Emigrant, and I'm gonna keep it there for a while, as they are usually very good about upping their rates ahead of other banks, but I feeel like there's been a lack of love lately. I might switch.

If you already have a citi acct and online banking you just gotta click a few "I agree" boxes and you're good to go. It already appears in my account list in Online Banking and I've funded it from my checking accoung and savings accts from Citi instantly. Now earning 4.5% goodness.

Slight lame update: I called to confirm I did everything properly cuz it shows up as "Preferred Money Market" in the account list. They said that is the correct account and thats how it should show up.
The current rate is 4.5, however it doesnt show that in the account screen. Apparantly the only way to find out what the current APY is on your account is in the monthly acct statement.
