Default Which should I read first?

I just got Mathematics of poker and Professional No-Limit HoldŽem. Which would you recommend I read first?

I don't own PNL, but I picked up Mathematics of Poker last night and started reading it. Although it is sexually exciting my left hemisphere at the moment, I don't know how quickly I will be able to practically apply the material (if ever). Based on the statements of others, you probably should tackle PNL first.

How strong is your math background? Most people should be fine when tackling MOP. But for those who are weaker in math, it will take much more time and patience. I'm going to read MOP while running Mathematica. If you have a program such as Matlab or Mathematica that you are comfortable with, you may want to do the same. I think you'll get more out of it this way.

Cheers.

Mathematics of Poker is not a good first poker book. Or even a good 20th poker book. It's about intigrating Game Theory into your play so that you play in the most unexploitable manner possible.

So if you're a high stakes pro, and regularly play against other high stakes pros, this will minimise any edge that might be able to gain over you.

NOT a good first poker book.

PNL, however, is awesome.
