Default Final Table FTP 163 - 1st hand.

Have been thinking about this one for a while. 1st hand of final table FTP163. Im chipleader with about 350K and have been playing solid. Showing down good hands. Had been playing with villain (Miss anonymous)for a while at previous table before FT began. Seemed like he/she had been raising ALOT PF, but I didnt see any showdowns.

Villain is 2nd in chips with 300K.
Blinds 3000-6000.
All fold to Villain on button who raises 16K fairly quickly.
Hero has 88 in SB. Hero raises to 50K ..good? bad?..should I just call and play poker? (BB has about 150K in chips).

BB folds. Villains takes about 60 seconds off their time bank and shoves...

Hero? Snap fold? What do you raise here with in the sb? What do you b/c? b/f?

What your 3b range should be in the small blind here vs certain opponents is somewhat an interesting topic.

What your 3b/fold range (if any) and 3b size should be in the small blind here vs certain opponents is an interesting topic.

If you 3b to 50k though, and do anything other than snap call a shove, you are terrible.

given stacks and chip positions i flat call pre almost always

I think in a vacuum this is a fold, but i mean i wouldnt be 3betting this hand in the first place cause i know i would be folding to a shove neways, another reason to flat pre imo

We are calling 100k to win 212750, We need a little less than 32% equity to break even.

Vs the absolute tightest nitty of nits ever 4bet range, we are slightly -ev at worst. It is a snap call.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 31.337% 31.14% 00.20% 147167904 928464.00 { 88 }
Hand 1: 68.663% 68.47% 00.20% 323571072 928464.00 { TT+, AKs, AKo }

Your maths is wrong. Villian has 300k in chips to start the hand. The BB had 150k but folded. We have to call 250k with only 108k in the pot as is.

This should be a fairly standard fold I would think.

i typically don't 3 bet if i do not have the intentions of calling a shove. i just call pf and see what happens. as played, i think we fold

I think (hope) he meant with good hands, I'm sure he would 3bet/fold trash here some of the time.

Im not a big fan of flat calling button raises from the SB esp when probably ahead but this definitely is a time to do so given chip position etc. as played your fold is fine imo.
